Jump Cross and Le Trec at Ravensdale Lodge in July and August

Ravensdale Lodge in Ireland, hosts of the popular Medieval Village Trek, will host a series of Jump Cross and Le Trec dates throughout July and August at their popular North Louth equestrian center, which holds regular registered and unaffiliated shows as well as a one-day event for Eventing Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity for Equitrekking Travel Ireland visitors to be spectators at these exciting events on their equestrian vacations in Ireland.

The events combine the two phases of show jumping and cross-country in the increasingly popular sport of Jump Cross. A six - week league is due to commence at the centre on Sunday July 11 with remaining league dates scheduled for Sunday, July 25th, August 15th, 22nd and 29th and the final set for Sunday, September 5th. Classes comprise of 3’3”, 2’9” and 2’3” so there is something there for everyone from riding or pony club members to eventers with young horses to school. Each event will comprise of a round of show jumps in one of the centres all weather grass arenas followed immediately by a compact round of cross – country and there will be cash and sponsored prizes in the final, kindly sponsored by Bailey’s horse feeds and Ravensdale Lodge. Entries made on the day and classes commence at 11am with 3’3”, followed by the 2’9” class at 12.30pm and finishing up with the 2’3” class at 2pm. 

Another increasingly popular equestrian sport to emerge over the past few years is Le Trec, a test of equine obedience as well as rider control and accuracy. Popular again with riding and pony club members, Le Trec typically involves orienteering, an obstacle course and the option of some small jumps. Ravensdale Lodge has scheduled two Le Trec days at the centre on Sunday, July 18th and Sunday, August 1st, both days commencing at 11am. There will be novice and intermediate, jumping and non - jumping classes and entries will be taken on the day.
